Corny crap worth watching - Batman Reviews

This movie has the #@$!est jokes the Jocker succks in this movie. With an awesome action parts and killing. This movie invovles a guy who is reborn with a unbreakable smile he starts a killing spree and batman must kick his ass. RENT IT LIKE I DID.

Very cool - Batman Reviews

Michael Keaton is the perfect BATMAN and Jack Nicholson is classic as The Joker (the only one who can play him in my opinion). Kim Basinger is cool as Bruce Wayne's love intrest and the origin of The Joker was PERFECT! The flash-backs were greatly timed with the movie and I love the climax (but the entire movie is cool...) GREAT movie!

Who are you?? i'm batman!! - Batman Reviews

And this movie truly is batman. So much better then the campy 70's Adam West version I loved this movie. The dark Gothim City scenary set the perfect back drop to one of the most perfect soundtracks that went with the movie ever. With Nicholson as the joker and Keaton as Batman I thought they played thier roles off each other perfectly. This movie is what I envision Batman to be, having read the first script thought up for this movie I'm sooo glad this is the one they went with. With classic lines like, This town needs an enima, i laughed and loved watching this movie. A must for anyone who enjoys a great movie to watch with anyone young and old.

Very disappointing - Batman Reviews

One of the slowest efforts I've seen in a really splashy big budget movie. The atmosphere that is supposed to drive the viewer is so absent of emotion that Batman not only approaches teduim but passes right over it. Only Nicholson keeps this from being a disaster and not by much.

The movie of the decade... - Batman Reviews

That was a mainstream review that hit the nail right on the head. Originally planned in the late '70's to follow up Superman, producers kept the idea rolling throughout the early and mid-'80's. Ironically, Jack was signed to play the Joker in both the conceived films. After an 'exhaustive' search, Tim burton was signed to direct, Jack to star and Michael Keaton the surprise pick as the man in the mask. With Kim Basinger picking up for Sean Young, the film simply rolled. With months of teasers, cereal and toys... the film released on June 23rd and dominated the box office... and didn't do Prince any harm either. The film set a new standard in summer blockbusters and completely redesigned the idea of 'comic book' films, and makes my list of 'Best' for that reason. Not nearly as true to the comic lore as 'Batman Begins', still a great tribute to the Dark Knight and his greatest nemesis, the Joker. This film reaches comic epic and no bathroom breaks allowed.

Bat - Batman Reviews

overrated joker and tender hero but good cinematography anyway this movie could be better than this if the director make it more thriller and darker.

Best comic adaptation on the big screen - Batman Reviews

In the comic-superhero genre, Batman is the most significant milestone after Superman. Tim Burton took the original challenge of making a dark and cynical movie out of a light and funny comic, and he succeeded wonderfully. That was pure genius. Add to this the unique performance of Jack Nicholson and the very convincing performance of Michael Keaton (he has not been equaled as Batman so far), and your movie is headed to the Oscars. I've watched Batman several times and still enjoy it - it does not get old.

The dark knight returns in a very good movie - Batman Reviews

"Gotham City" is under the insane criminal grip of its most dangerous criminal, "Jack Napier", better known to the Gothamites as "The Joker" (Jack Nicholson). And there is only one man who can stop him -- the world's greatest detective, "The Batman" (Michael Keaton). Director Tim Burton brings to the silver screen the first correct adaptation of the popular comic book character created by Bob Kane back in 1939. This "Batman" is as dark as the city he protects. The first thing you notice with this movie is the dark scenery. The use of dark colors and shadows are used wonderfully, especially in the final fight in the movie. As good as the visuals of this movie is, the acting is their equal. Michael Keaton is wonderful as "Bruce Wayne" and "Batman". His version of "Wayne" is friendly as his "Batman" is mysterious. It is a great performance for his first dramatic role. Kim Basinger and Robert Wuhl (to a lesser degree) are fine in their roles. The only problems I had with their performances were that Wuhl was trying too hard to be comic relief, and Basinger screamed way too much. Then there is the amazing performance by Nicholson. His performance is what "Joker" should be -- comical, yet meniacal without any care for mankind. Those in lesser roles are also great, but only Billy Dee Williams and Jack Palance should have had more screen time than they had. If you are looking for a movie with good acting, as well as wonderful visuals, then "Batman" has to be on your "Must See" list.

The best film of the 4! - Batman Reviews

Face it. Batman is the best. It rocks! Nicholson is the best! He is SO funny! Keaton rocks! He is dark and moody, as is the set around him! There are only two problems with this film, and they are: 1- no telling of Batman's origin, and 2- Kim Basinger. Other than that, a prime example of a good comic-book film! Watch it!

I have a flying mouse to kill... - Batman Reviews

"The movie of the decade." That was the review from a Boston writer which adorned the ads and the VHS release for Tim Burton's Batman. Was it the film of the decade? No. Very close, but not quite. It did, however, remind people that good comic books, given a chance, can make spectacular movies. Not since "Superman" had a comics character recieved such royal treatment... even as dark, gothic and dead-on as Burton's Dark Knight may be. Was Keaton the right choice? For that moment in time, yes. Bruce Wayne is the quiet rich guy you may not feel comfortable turning your back on at some moments.. cause he is nuts, like it or not. Basinger? Eh. And if they plan a thousand sequels, they will never get another Joker like Jack. Although physically not the comics match... evil is hardly ever just that cold, cruel or fun. While not always true to the storyline of Bruce Wayne / Batman, the film is definately a celebration of The Bat-Man's revival of the mid 80's as comics one true dark anti-hero. Sorry Adam West. Others may say 'Returns' is the better Bat-flick of the original '4' (which include Shumacher's campy dayglow tributes), but there is no doubt that the first, with a good hard look, is still the best.

Batman 1989 - Batman Reviews

The best Batman movie so far it's number one. Jack Nickolson did and a good job as joker and Keaton has to be the best batman. Kim Bassinger was sexy in that movie ( if you are a 80's lover) The Batmobile is stylish. If you like watching the old Batman of the 40's with Volswagen beetle batmobile then you need a life go to the video rental store and watch it.

The way batman should be - Batman Reviews

This is the best adaptation of Batman. It's dark, grim, bleak, the way Batman should be portayed. Jack Nicholson is marvelous as the Joker. He's funny, devilish, and that smile(while obviously fake) still gives me nightmares. Micheal Keaton is good, too. The sets are outstanding, and the visuals , while not excellent by todays standards, are still pretty impresive. Overall, this is the way Batman should be portrayed. I also recommend "Batman Returns," but NOT the last two films in the series, which were absolutely horrid.

Batman the movie. - Batman Reviews

In 1989 I was nine years old. This was the first adult movie i got to go to. I think my parents didn't expect it to be as violent as it was. Anyway I thought it was great then. I bought it sometime in the ninties and realized that adter watching it a second time later in life that this movie gave birth to the ninteen ninties. <--- Sorry for the run on. Batman was an increasingly dark movie with evil undertones. I am reviewing it mostly because i am at work and i am trying to finish up my lunch hour as pointlessly as possible. That aside, i quote that this is one of jack nicholsons better films. Both he and michael keaton did an excelent job. I think that it may have ruined michaels carear cause i havent heard anything out of him till 2004 with white noise. None the less it was and is worth watching today.

Jack's show - Batman Reviews

Well adapted from the classic comic book, this version differs completely from the 1960s tv series: A dark, misty, retro and futurist at the same time Gothan City ,contrast with the colorful, modern city of the successful TV show. A capricius Tim Burton gave Michael Keaton the role of Bruce Wayne - Batman. He is uneffective as the mysterious Batman, contrasting with Jack Nicholson who plays the Joker in another fantastic performance that clearly beats Keaton 's. Kim Bassinger completes the leads as the reporter Vicki Vale, who becames frustrated Batman's love. Good visuals, terrific score but weak.

The dark night detective - Batman Reviews

i iused to enjoy the batman comics when i was younger.never in my wildest dreams did i expect hollywood to produce one of my all time favorite movies, and they will never another actor to play BATMAN like Micheal Keaton. As far as i'm concerned he willalways be BATMAN!!!!!!!!! G.Cook

Batman and joker - Batman Reviews

Probably my favorite old superhero movie, I mean come on it's Batman. The actors were terrific-Michael Keton and Jack Nicholson. This movie was directed by Tim Burton, the same who directed the Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. Batman basically revolves around the origin of the Joker. I bought this movie when I was little and I really liked it.

"have u ever danced with the devil ... - Batman Reviews

..Under A Pale Moon Light."-Jack Nicolson This an extremely artistic looking movie. Typical conming from Tim Burton, whose movies are usually grotesque. This is one of his least artistic films, but this is probably his best movie. This movie drives into pop culture. I can for hours quoting from this film. The music, the orchestrated music, from this film is excellent. It has this mysterious sound to it. This is just a great film.

Tim burton sad sad genius... - Batman Reviews

Tim Burton is kind of a genius. He really have great ideas on how to make a movie. Unfortunally he must be cursed, because his movies ALWAYS fails. He made this Batman movie and it sucks all the way. The only good thing about this movie is jack nicholson. Anyway, Mr. Nicholson is behiond of any crap production and will always look godlike. The music on Batman is good.. One masterpiece of orchest music. He also made Planet of Apes, with that great dark visual... But the rest of the movie is a pile of dog crap. And I am a big fan of the original Planet of Apes. He also made Eduard Dickhands. I think this is his masterpiece. Anyway, this movie has great acting by Mr. Deep and other actors and all the thinks have conspire to a great movie. Seens more like a sparkle of lucky in the Tim Burton trajectory. I hope he suceeds again in some future movie.

What's not to love about batman? - Batman Reviews

obviously not an oscar-worthy movie, but great in it's entirety nonetheless. if batman is a superhero than what is his super power? anyone, anyone. it is his intelligence. his cave, vehicles, batbelt, etc. what the human mind is capable of with super intelligence makes this movie good. but that thrown in with anger, revenge, and some attraction make this movie great. For 1989, this movie has enjoyable special effects and scenary. Batman is tim burton's masterpeice.

Batman - Batman Reviews

This live action story of the comic book hero, the caped crusader, is an excellent film by director Tim Burton (Beetle Juice, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands). Michael Keaton's Batman and Bruce Wayne add interest to what the real Batman is like. But the one who steals the show is the brilliantly cast Jack Nicholson who falls into acid and become the evil Joker. This is a brilliant story with plenty of action in store. Brillaint!

Batman - Batman Reviews

The live action story of the caped crusader is a brilliant one by director Tim Burrton, the director of Beetle Juice and Edward Scissorhands. It has a superb representation of the evil Joker by academy award winner Jack Nicholson (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). Michael Keaton (Beetle Juice) also gives a good performance as Batman, but the Joker steals the show. Brilliant!

Dont mess with the bat! - Batman Reviews

this is one of the greatist movies, its spectacular! i just saw the whole searies,of it and most of them are awsome.

Batman - Batman Reviews

I thought the story line was a little weak and it was a little bizzar, that Jack Nicholson just fell into those chemicals.I did think this one is the only Batman that was ever good, Batman Begins tops all the Batman, this one is like the second best. It was the first time we saw Batman cool, nlike the original comics he had tights and was nice to people and villains, but in this one he was dark as it should have been, not as dark as Batman Begins, but dark enough, Jack Nicholson as the Joker, man the best villain of all time Danny DeVito as Penguin, horrible, Michell Pfeiffer as Catwoman, worse, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, yuck!!! To me Two-Face, was just a goofy villain, Jim Carrey as the Riddler!?!? Stupid, can't see Jim Carrey as a villian, Arnold Swarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, weird acent, and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy???? LAME!!! Joker the best one ever!!!! I really think Jim Carrey can do a better job as the Joker, but Jack was awesome, but he did not have the Joker laugh... Micheal Keaton's performance was good, Val's performance was good too, but Georges performance??? EWWWW. I do recommend this Batman, but not the other three movies, I also truely recommend the new one.

Not the best - Batman Reviews

i have seen better comic book movies than batman. spiderman the hulk and also hellboy was better than batman. but it has cruddy animation

An alright movie for fans of the joker - Batman Reviews

this movie was directed by tim burton, aman with great creativity and visual aspects on all the fulms he done, but i believe this was not the best batman movie their was, because the man himself, said he never reads comics. it takes a person who reads and understands comics in all of its forms to make a great comic book movie. Batman forever, though alittlebit cheesey, was still good, because if followed a comic book type of action, joel shumacker (though overdoing it with the batman and robin) did do a great job with forever, tim burtons, dark emphasis on the first batman movie made the other movies better in consept, but the villans were mostly boasted in the movies, jack nicholson was the best part of batman. as for keaton being a good batman, i actualy say, no. val kilmer as batman was better than keatons roll as him, i liked keaton as beetlejuice but batman, im sorry, i must dissagree. as for the whole movie, i still watch it, but tim burton should have read most of the comics before filming the movie.

Best batman movie - Batman Reviews

This movie follows suit to the idea that the original movie of a series is always the best. So far, this remains undefeated as the best Batman movie. Michael Keaton was a great Batman...probably the best so far; Jack Nicholson was perfect for the Joker since he's already insane. The Joker made me laugh quite a bit but he was also kinda creepy with the way he's killing people. Tim Burton is a good director and always has been. As for visuals, nowadays they aren't very good, but when it was made, they were pretty good. Overall, a good movie and still the best Batman movie to date. Christian Bale will have to do a really good job in 'Batman Begins' to beat Keaton.

Good...but not great! - Batman Reviews

Let me just say that I am not a Tim Burton fan. Many might believe his talents are creative, but actually, I find his visuals redundant and boring. So, although I enjoyed watching Michael Keaton as Batman and thought Jack Nicholson "could" have been a great Joker, this movie just didn't work for me. It had too much Tim Burton in it! The Joker is sinister, indeed, yet Burton turned him into a ridiculous circus clown. I mean, come on, the one scene where Joker is painting up the art museum and playing Prince music in the background?? Give me a break! Oh, and whats with Kim Bassinger? Yeah, Vickie Vale, right? Wrong! The movie could have done much better without the love interest. How does the Batman find time to save Gotham City and maintain a social life? I never knew he actually had one. Well, apparently, Tim Burton didn't know either, which is why this movie is really nothing more than mediocre.

1989 masterpiece from nicholson and keaton - Batman Reviews

Michael Keaton is Bruce Wayne by day and Batman by night. He is out to rid the city of the maniacal Joker (Jack Nicholson) and his gang of thugs. The first one in the series creates a dark and tragic scenery that intensifies the audience.

Great start to the begining - Batman Reviews

tim burten does a awasome job bringing the dark knight to the big screen. he captures the essence of batman by making the movie dark.

I was bat swinged!!!................great job - Batman Reviews

It was a very good movie, I mean really good. What I didn't like was the visuals, but what can I say.... It was long ago. The story was really well done,,, and Jack Nicholsan deserved his award recieved. Anyone who read the comic books, should watch this. Batman was really well done and it is proven in the movie. Great Job!

Greatest comic book movie - Batman Reviews

The reason this film is the greatest comic book movie is because it stick to the original story, and even gives u its origins. The movie is briliantly filmed, but the high point is Keaton. He gives Bruce the dark edge that only existed in the comics. The image of a man haunted by his past, trying to do justice for those who cannot. His portrayal of bruce is spot on. The scene when the Joker has just killed one of his enemies with a quill, and bruce just walks toward him, even after almost getting shot in the arm, then just stares at him through the window of the limo, that is the point that made this a great movie. There was no fight to break out like in the sequils, he didn't chace after him like Spider Man or Wolverine would have. He Just stared. that is so true to the actual caracter created by bob kane, which makes this the best comic book movie ever.

I am simply let down everytime I get talked into going to an american made comedy. Who's rating these comedy movies... post pubescent boys and girls? I guess if you think bare breasted women, stupid cliches' and just plain dumb writing is funny... more power to you. I'll stick to the foreign comedies, until Hollywood can produce something more funny than this type of garbage.

Batman, the best comic book based film...ever!!! - Batman Reviews

Seriously, name another movie based on a comic book that was more satisfyingly complete than Batman. I challenge you. Superman? A good movie, but a little too camp. The Matrix? A great Star Wars re-make with a Jesus story mixed in. Spiderman, The Hulk or X-men/2? All great but not as awesome or groundbreaking a film as the original Batman, as directed by Tim Burton. Arguably one of Burton's greatest films, the dark gothic tone of the film is established with relative ease by the creepy flick-maker. Micheal Keaton is cast perfectly along with Jack Nicholson as the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime! If you couldn't already tell by all of this, I was a huge comic book fan as a kid (who wasn't) and an even bigger Batman fan. I can't wait to see what Christopher Nolan does in Batman Begins with Christian Bale as the caped crusader. I'm sure that it will be an improvement on the work of Joel Shumacher, who practically ruined the series. farleydave3

Batman - Batman Reviews

This movie was an okay Batman. It wasn't that good. Jack Nicholson made the best bad guy. He was so perfect for the part of the Joker. He also was scary. Michael Keaton did an okay job as Batman, but Val Kilmer was better. Still This is pretty fun and you can't take your eyes off this movie. The best Batman is still yet to be made.

Batman is a ride you'll never forget! - Batman Reviews

With the wacky and strange talents of Tim Burton, the mistifying music of Danny Elfman, Michael Keaton's deep voice, and that insane cackle from Jack Nicholson, Batman is a ride worth taking.

Flawed and over rated... but jack is brilliant! - Batman Reviews

The first installment of the series is flawed and over rated... but Jack turns in one of the most Oscar-worthy performances of the century in a film with an extraordinary vision and soundtrack. #1 - Tim Burton's malevolent interpretation of Gotham is genius, it influenced cinema from that point on to this day in an exponential capacity... but the film's evolution is labored to a critical fault by the fact that we have to watch Knox run around Gotham like a digresion prone lemming. Who cares? #2 - Batman (Keaton) is an excellent actor and turned in a strong performance... but is miscast. A younger and much taller Bruce/Batman was needed. Everyone including myself at one point said "Keaton was the best", but I really believe that is primarily because he was the first. Had Depp or even Kilmer been cast first the vast majority would probably say they were the best. Bob Kane's stated in Cinecsape (May 1995) that he appreciated Keaton but Kilmer was far better suited to play the role. Remember that Bruce Wayne is an athletic GQ-type who attracts women without effort in the comics... I really love Keaton's work but he is not exactly a sex symbol or over 6 foot or athletic when compared to others (specifically Kilmer). #3 - Killing The Joker. Do I really need to elaborate? Aside from the above, it is still the best film in the series and a groundbreaking film in a multi-disciplinary capacity. Long live Jack! The best Batman is yet to be made...

Batman - the greatest comic book film adaptation! - Batman Reviews

Tim Burton's vision of what batman should be is without a doubt a vision of God. This Film doesnt skip a beat, it has a storyline in itself worth watching, however this film also has something which no other comic book adaptation has yet shown, and that is art design, intregue, and a sound track twice as brilliant as anything I have ever heard. The cast of Batman, Keaton and Nicolson, are absolutly amazing in their own respects, which Keaton plays the Tormented Bruce Wayne, to a tee, Nicolson plays an over the top, brooding Joker, which trully deserved him the Acadamy award of 1989.. I dont know anyone who didnt like this movie, I love it so watch it, and I guarentee you will watch it again

The art direction is something to be proud of - Batman Reviews

The casting is really bad, although the actors did a fine job with what they had. The story is down-wright horrable. The directions flawed. At least the art directions good, i mean it has something to put on the Oscar ballet, of fifteen years ago.

Batman 1989:a legend - Batman Reviews

Everyone likes Batman because of various reasons but the one that started it all is this movie. There's some kind of charm to this original Batman that is sorely lacking in today's blockbusters. It has a toy-like quality. It doesn't aim to impress but to delight. The movie was a massive success when it released but the weird thing is that in spite of its success it still somehow feels like a small, personal film-personal both for the filmmaker, Tim Burton as well as for the audience. It was a movie by and for misfits at a time when it just happened that an awful lot of us were feeling like misfits. It was very much of its time and it made a powerful connection. Michael Keaton makes an intriguing and compelling Batman.Jack Nicholson as The Joker was excellent and he kept everyone entertained while he was on screen.Kim Basinger was the beautiful Vicky Vale. There are some parts I don't agree on especially when Alfred brought Vicky into the Batcave. He would not have done that in the comics. They also kind of mixed up the plot about Bruce Wayne's parents murdered by the Joker. This movie can transform you into a Batman fan even if before this you hated Batman. The movie was kind of dark and it suits the story and the gothic-glow of Gotham City. If you're a Batfan and never watch this movie,WATCH IT! This is a classic to the Batman franchise and also to all superheroes franchises too.Batman's the real deal.

The drab bat begins - Batman Reviews

The series of Batman movies that followed each dropped in creativity, substance, and flare. The first in the series, from 1989, was and still is the best Bat-movie out there. Nicholson's Joker is one of the best depictions of villainy on-screen anywhere.

A batman experience - Batman Reviews

This is definitely the best of the batman movies. The movie shows that Batman is Tim Burton's DARK hero. As for the actors, Jack Nicholson is the perfect Joker and Micahel Keaton is the only Bruce Wayne.

Batman - Batman Reviews

Tim Burton's "Batman" is a triumphant piece of art...but it fails as a compelling motion picture. With a dead-on performance from the always-reliable Jack Nicholson as Joker, "Batman" barely makes the mark, but I can't not recommend it. Thumbs up.

The first batman is the best so far - Batman Reviews

So far the first Batman in 1989 by Tim Burton was great. I am a big BatMan reader and i was really happy that it had the joker in it. Even though the killer of Bruce Wanye's parents isn't Jack NApier (a.k.a. Joker)it is really Joe Chill. BUt i don't know the new Batman has alot of hype even though it is coming out next year. Lets hope it is better then the last one. Also i hope it not a flop like Catwoman which is horrible.

Great!!! - Batman Reviews

Batman is one of the best super-hero movies. Jack Nicholson is an outstanding Joker. Tim Burton did another art.

Great! - Batman Reviews

I loved this version of the story of batman. It's great and has great acting! Jack Nicholson is perfect as the role of the joker. It's a must see action film. Tim Burton set a dark mood for the film which was perfect. Good Job!

Tim burton's epic, but not his best - Batman Reviews

Batman is considered to be Tim Burton's best film. It's his highest grossing film at the U.S. box office making over $250 million dollars, also giving it the honor of having the highest gross total for a superhero movie.......up until 2002. However, it wasn't his biggest critcal success. Some critics called the film too dark, some said it was disturbing, and some found it to be too violent. I think what they failed to realize though is that it is supposed to be all of those things. That's what the comic book was all about. The comic book had a film-noir feel to it, even though it was a book, and that's what the film tries to capture. It does, and it does it in a very stylish way. Now even though the film is called Batman, the movie isn't really about either Batman or Bruce Wayne (Who are one in the same and played by Michael Keaton). His character is more developed in the later films. However, we do learn that his parents were killed on a street corner, but that's really all we know about his past. The first Batman movie though is really about the villian. The villian is called The Joker who is played by Jack Nicholson. The reason why he is called The Joker is because his face was altered into a grin after he landed in a pool of chemicals. He then begins his quest on ruling Gotham City, by trying to make people look like he does by using chemicals in different kinds of makeup, and by also brainwashing them into thinking that he is a good guy. Who is the person to stop him? Batman! Writing the premise for this film was a real hard thing to do. All of the characters are underdeveloped so it's really hard to explain what is going on. The only reason why we root for Batman in the end of the movie, is because he is in fact Batman. If he wasn't Batman, we wouldn't care if he saves the day or not, because we don't know the man behind the mask. That's what makes this movie different from Superman and Spider-Man. We know the characters and we care for them. Also, the film tries to develop a love story between Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Vicky Vale, played by Kim Bassinger. Vicky Vale is a news reporter hired to cover Batman. That's all we know about her. And since we know very little about Wayne, we care very little about them. However, did most people go to see Batman because of character development? No, they went to see the film in masses, because of the action and the actors. The acting in this movie at some points is a little to over the top, but what do you expect from a movie like this? We get the occasional cheesy one liners, but we excuse them. However, the best performance of the movie comes from Jack Nicholson. He makes the character of The Joker his own. And since his character is so horribly scarred, he gives the character a very dark sense of humor which is enjoyable to watch. As for the action sequences they are pretty fun to watch. The most creative sequence, and the best sequence of the film is when Batman is flying his airplane throughout Gotham City, and then crashing in front of a church. You can tell that some of the shots are models, but they are mostly convincing. Also, unlike most superhero movies, there are a lot of shootouts in this movie. Now here is the thing that is probably the most important quality that a superhero movie needs to have at least to me besides action. A superhero movie, must have a superhero theme in it and the movie must also have a good score. We all remember Superman, because of the infamous Superman theme by John Williams and his wonderful score for that movie. Danny Elfman's theme and score for Batman is very good, but nowhere near as good as Superman. However, it is much better than his Spider-Man theme/score, where to me, there isn't really a theme evident in that movie. Batman to this date remains Elfman's best score in movies. One can beg to differ though that his theme for The Simpsons is pretty great. So where does this film rank in the Batman series? Well, I don't happen to consider it my favorite Batman film. My favorite is actually Batman Forever (The 3rd film in the series) starring Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne/Batman. I find that to be a little odd though, because I thought Michael Keaton was the best Batman, and that Tim Burton was the best director of the series. (He would be replaced by Joel Schumacher for the final two films, though he would remain as producer for the third film and be completely absent for the fourth one.) I just think that the film was more exciting, stylish and funnier than the previous two films, and the later Batman and Robin. I think it's mostly because of Jim Carrey. His villian was not only the funniest, but probably the most developed one in the series. However, the first Batman film I would rank as my second favorite, with Batman and Robin finishing third and Batman Returns finishing fourth. Batman is a very exciting film, delievered with a lot of style and is worth owning on DVD.

Batman - Batman Reviews

Jack Nicholson and Micheal Keaton, great actors who made this movie well made!! Tim Burton's Batman is pretty good! The Joker played by Jack Nicholson made the best villian of all time!! Yeah, well the other villians, they were okay. Micheal made the best Batman, but not the best Bruce Wyane. The story was great, the acting was spectacular, the direction really sucked, and the visuals, well they were okay. This movie is often entertaining, and also fun.

Batman rules with nicholson and keaton - Batman Reviews

This movie will be one of my favorites comic books films ever like Spider-Man, X-men ,Men in Black, and Blade are to me.What I like about this movie is the storyline, plot, and the actors especially Jack Nicholson as the crazy , psychotic, and manic known as The Joker I thought he was brilliant and excellent with his face expressions , voice, and especially that grin he had on his face and he really look like he was crazy in there and I thought it amazing and funny how he pull it off as him I think he was the best actor ever to play The Joker. Michael Keaton was awesome as Bruce Wayne and his alter ego as Batman the caped crusader that goes after all the bad guys and he protects the people in Gotham City and I think he was the best Batman ever and he should been in Batman 3 & 4 instead of another actor playing him but I still like all the Batman movies the same. Kim Basinger was perfect as the reporter Vicki Vale and I thought her part in there were good with Nicholson and Keaton.Tim Burton did a wonderful job with the movie with a great cast and the music on it was excellent by Danny Elfman.I gave the movie four star and two thumbs up.

Why its the greatest ever? - Batman Reviews

This film is awsome because it sticks so well with the basic story of Batman. It doesn't have a bunch of cheesy special effects like the other in the serries after Batman: Returns. The cast is amazing, no one could have played the Joker better then Jack. Michael Keaton is an amazing Batman. He can play Bruce Wayne the way he is depicted in the comics but still holds the darkeness to Batman. Tim Burton has the personality to create a movie like this and keep it somewhat realistic. Prince or the Artist Formely known as or whatever created a wonderful soundtrack to go with this film. All in all I loved this film.

"the" greatest movie of all time - Batman Reviews

This Has been my favorite movie since i was a young boy it has everything romance action adventure suspence. It pains me to see sequals like batman forever and batman at robin I can't stand them tim burton should sue the pants off Joel. Batman Introduces the "dark" Batman to the movie screen and does a hell of a job, Only thing wrong with it is batman is not big muscle and has limited gadgets but over all still my greatest movie of all time.

Dark knight reigns - Batman Reviews

In the cover of darkness a man runs around a dark city in a dark vigilante costume. He is aptly called Batman due to his resemblance to the creature with his mask. He is a multi-millionaire playboy by day, Bruce Wayne, Kick butt bat suit wearing vigilante by night. This movie is awesome. Michael Keton played a perfect Batman. His arm gestures, his mechanical head movement were so Batman. The way he delivered his lines and the fighting were very good. Michael K. could not have done any better. Jack Nicklson reigns as the Joker. His big grin, high eyebrows and crazy line delivery could never be matched. He was the Joker. Kim Basinger was the lovely love interest with her big poutey lips. She was the icing on the oh so dark cake. She was the only light in the dark gloom of the movie. Now for the true genius behind the movie is the director Tim Burton. The movie was dark. The city buildings, the snow, clothes, expressions, everything was practically devoid of all color. It is a masterpiece of cinema. Just the way Batman should be; dark and emotionless. Batman is the hero of ages grace the silver screen with perfection, simply amazing. The aw-inspiring parts are when Bruce Wayne?s parents are murdered in front of him. There was a rose that fell. The way that scene plays out is so cool. It had great emotional depth though not actually seeing it occur, the deaths. Ever single scene with Batman and the Joker is fantastic. Especially the last fight when he had the last laugh. Best lines are by the Joker, of course. "Ever dance with the devil in the pail moon light?" And, "Where does he get all those toys?" Batman is a movie I could watch over and over again. It is as if the Comic Book just came to life. It is a wonderful adaptation from the comic book that no one could do better. And I can go as far to say that anyone who claims to be a fan of Batman and did not like the movie must have been the fan of the late lame TV show then the dark comic books that Batman was bred from. This was a Batman movie and is the Batman movie to beat when ever they chose to bring him back. I highly doubt anyone can beat what Tim Burton gave, twice.

The dark hero! - Batman Reviews

Dark overtones sets the scope of this expansive retelling of a crime fighting caped crusader inspired by Frank Miller graphic novel ?The Dark Knight Returns? and based on the DC comic classic by Bob Kane. With the unexpected cruel death of his parents, millionaire Bruce Wayne [Michael Keaton] lives a solitude life of swallowed anger and sufferation. Gotham City is rampantly over-run by crime, amply frustrated with the situation Wayne channels his disturbing anger to deliver his own breed of justice in the form of a vigilante, disguised as costume wielding hero known as Batman. The Dark Hero is faced with the most diabolical villian in Jack Napier a.k.a. The Joker [Jack Nicholson], who?s no hold barred relentless crime streak mixed with his laughable demeanors causes quite a showdown. Artistically creative, director Tim Burton delivers a magnificent spectacle of fantasy styled rendition with an excellent storyline of well explained in-depth structure written for the screen by Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren. Burton masterful vision mixed with the Academy Award winning Art Direction of Anton Furst and Peter Young, orchestrates a unique blend of artistic flair entwined in a dark imaginative setting. The onscreen combination of Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson is absolutely flawless, as there offers to the audiences decisively accurate performances in there portrayal of varied characters. Considered to be the ultimate duel of good versues evil, between a rogue crime fighter who carries a sadistic torch for all perpetrators and a grotesque madman with an inflatable taste of cruel humour, inevitably squares of for a highly climatic battle. Tim Burton was instrumental in the resurrection of the ?Batman? franchise, as the then worldwide based comic book monopoly was undeniably falling short of it?s now major competitor of the time, Marvel comics. Like it?s comic book brother in arms Superman, Batman is stylish adaption with a most memorable character of triumphant excellence, and regarded as one of the best derivation from comic pages to movie magic.

An immortal masterpiece. is batman!!!!! - Batman Reviews

Batman VS Spider man..so cool!!!!!! I like American hero. but Superman in old times..a poor work in my opinion. Tim is good stage effect and excellent cast..a case Jack,Micheal,Kim..Kim? KIm is Korean?? crack a joke. but in appearance, look like a Korean women.. perhaps grandfather or mother..Korean? In conclusion, this movie is best of best picture. Especialy,it's a cool postmodernism stage effect by Tim.

Batman started it all - Batman Reviews

Although they mess with the origin of Bruce Wayne's parents and tie it into the Joker being responsible for there death, the movie was very Awesome. Great set designs, costumes, and make up jobs. The Batman suit was incredible, to this day the best suit out of all the four Batman movies. Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson do an amazing job, they could have picked somebody else to play Vicki Vale (not big on Kim Basinger). A few things they should not have done: 1. Have Alfred be some dumb. He brings Vicki Vale into the Batcave, come on he would never do that in the comics. And there is a scene where Vicki is told by Bruce he and Alfred will be out of town for a few days and then when she sees Alfred she says see you guys when you get back. And Alfred responds BACK? We are going to be here for quite some time. Alfred would have played along and then asked Bruce about it later. 2. Why was Commisioner Gordon such a lump? Bad choice of casting him, perhaps they should have used Denis Franz. Other than a few blunders because it is Hollywood I would say Batman is the all time best Superhero movie out there, it set the tone for all others that have followed, like Daredevil, Spiderman, etc...
